I was the first hire at 99% INVISIBLE, the “tiny radio show about design” that became one of the most successful podcasts ever.

When I joined 99PI in 2012, it was just me and host Roman Mars making ~8 min episodes 2-3x per month from his house in the Berkeley hills. When I left the show in 2017, we had become a weekly show with 1.5M downloads per month, a staff of 10, and an office in beautiful downtown Oakland, California. Our first three Kickstarters each became the most-funded journalism project on the platform at that time.
