VICE AUDIO was a nimble, autonomous unit created to make original works of audio journalism, and also provide a podcast platform for Vice News’ video and print offerings.

I served as Senior Producer at Vice Audio from 2021-22, where I helped run the flagship weekly podcast
Vice News Reports.

Here are some of my favorite episodes I helped make.

Eleven year-old Kai Shappley has had a tough time just being a kid. Her whole life, the state of Texas, where she lives, has been policing what bathrooms she can use, what name she can go by—and a myriad of other basic personal freedoms afforded to kids who are not transgender, like Kai.
As Russian forces advance further into Ukraine, we hear from those in the midst of the unfolding war.

Katia's audio diary was featured an episode of This American Life.

Six months after Russia launched a full-scale invasion on Ukraine, we check in with Katia, a Ukrainian woman who we first spoke with during our previous coverage. Like many Ukranians who stayed in the country, Katia has had to find ways to live life in the midst of chaos—which includes dating.
Reporter Jen Kinney hosts a game show to help listeners spot forms of anti-union rhetoric you might heart at work. Also, we made a [bingo card](https://x.com/VICENews/status/1529861939794526208).
Was the closing of San Onofre nuclear power plant a victory the environment? It's complicated.

While at Vice, I also contributed an original investigation into trans health care access in Florida. More on that here.
